Many rural elderly in Cambodia live impoverished<\/strong> and lonely<\/strong> lives in their old age, often without access to even the most basic supplies or personal care<\/strong>.

With no pensions<\/strong>, social security, or government-sponsored programs<\/strong> in place, the elderly are often left isolated<\/strong> and vulnerable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Since 2015, from our base in Kampong Speu, we have been reaching out to some of the poorest<\/strong> and most neglected elderly<\/strong> in nearby villages. Our work is both practical<\/strong> and personal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We visit them in their homes to offer companionship<\/strong> and check on their needs, and we host community events<\/strong>, celebration<\/strong>s, and shared meals<\/strong> that allow them to feel included and cared for.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

We also donate basic food supplies<\/strong>, assist with small house repairs<\/strong>, and provide materials and emotional support to restore dignity<\/strong> and improve quality of life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

We aim to show these elderly men and women that they are valued<\/strong> members of the community<\/strong>, deserving of respect<\/strong>, compassion<\/strong>, and connection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenges these elderly face are not only physical but also deeply emotional<\/strong>. Many speak of feeling forgotten<\/strong> or abandoned<\/strong>, with little opportunity for social interaction <\/strong>or joy <\/strong>in their daily lives. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Every visit, food package, or repaired roof may seem small, but together these acts make a profound difference<\/strong>, reminding the elderly that they are not alone <\/strong>and that they are cared for.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
